So just like you or anyone else that has bought an iPad recently – I have downloaded, deleted, purchased, searched, researched, reviewed and installed multiple iPad Apps.

My App research has mostly been based around news/information processing applications (yes I am a self diagnosed Information Junkie). Here I want to share with you my favourite info-filtering apps I have tested so far – in the effort to help save you time in the search of the perfect app.
The Early Edition iPad App
This is my favourite iPad App to date. You connect it to your Google Reader account and it creates multiple newspapers on the fly based on the folders you have set in your reader options. On my way to work I use to browse Reddit on the iPhone – now I read a personalised paper based on the websites I subscribe to – massive game changer.
Screenshot is of a couple of Web Analytics blogs I follow. This kind of personalisation is the future of news.

Good Reader iPad App
Good Reader enables you to view your documents on the go. You can transfer documents to your iPad via WIFI, USB, from the internet, or via email attachements (works smoothly with google apps email). For those who use DropBox you’ll be glad to know it works seamlessly with that too.
I use it predominantly to read industry reports (PDF’s), and to review weekly work reports during my commute.
It’s an advanced application and recommend it to anyone who read’s alot of PDF’s for their work. Good to know > GoodReader supports password protected DRM’ed PDF ebooks.
Kindle for iPad
Kindle for iPad needs no introduction, it’s a welcome presence on the app store – providing access to 450,000+ books on the Amazon platform.

InstaPaper Pro iPad App
This app is a long time favourite. During a working day – you will receive various tweets, IM’s and links from your friends/industry peers recommending (self promoting?) various blog posts/news articles. If you were to read every blog post that comes your way – it goes without saying you won’t get alot accomplished throughout the day. In steps Instapaper.
The Instapaper app allows you to simply save the link you were sent for a later date via a simple little bookmarklet.
The coolest feature of this app on the iPhone version is the accelerometer-based tilt scrolling (I feel like I am in Star Trek when I read my news like this) it’s still present in this new iPad version however pagination is set as the default browsing experience – you just need to switch it up in the settings.
The real beauty of Instapaper though is it’s stripping of the noise. It removes all ads, links, and unnecessary information – presenting you with nothing but the actual content.

Thomas Reuters Insider iPad App
Insider is the new video streaming service launched by Thomas Reuters.
For those of you interested in Finance/Business this app is essential – currently Free (you just need to register for an account) it allows you to watch exclusive interviews with newsmakers and in-depth commentary on market issues.

Pulse News iPad App
Similar to The Early Edition app, Pulse can connect with your Google Reader Account and present your Feeds in a more visually engaging way. Steve Jobs featured the app in his keynote at WWDC 2010 and since launch Pulse has been a top selling application.
Wikipanion Plus iPad App
Want to explore local Wikipedia articles? There’s an app for that…
Featuring all of the same great features that you know and love from Wikipanion, Wikipanion Plus gives you the features you need to browse Wikipedia all day, and have fun doing it!
Wikipanion Plus’ queue mode helps you to keep track of the pages you want to read in the future. You can quickly add pages you want to read into the queue without interrupting your current article. No more having to deal with tabs or having multiple pages open. Interrupt your browsing at any time and then come back later and continue reading where you left off. It’s quick, reliable and fun.
